The British Tourism and Travel Show 2020 postponed due to coronavirus

One of the UK’s leading travel and tourism events has been postponed as the country continues to deal with the worldwide outbreak of coronavirus.

The 2020 British Tourism and Travel Show (BTTS), scheduled to run on Wednesday 25th and 26th March at the NEC in Birmingham, has now been put back until 11th and 12th June.

The two-day event traditionally brings together tour operators, group travel organisers and travel trade professionals looking to discover new ideas for their trips, tours and itineraries in the UK and beyond.

The show’s spring timing normally also provides exhibitors such as visitor attractions, destinations, hotels and accommodation providers, museums, historic homes and heritage properties and gardens with an early opportunity to showcase their offering for the year ahead and beyond.

The outbreak of coronavirus has thrown events across the UK into a state chaos and event organisers of BTTS have taken the cautious and sensible decision to postpone matters until June.

In a statement, they said

With the current situation regarding COVID-19 we have made the very difficult decision to postpone the British Tourism and Travel Show. Due to the magnitude and unanticipated public health and safety issues posed by the rapidly escalating COVID-19 we feel that this is the most sensible option to protect the safety of all our guests.

The new dates are Thursday 11th – Friday 12th June still at the NEC, Birmingham. We have an amazing show ready for you to source new ideas and meet teams from leading destinations, attractions and hotels. The keynote theatre is jam-packed full of inspiring content, delivered by leading travel experts.

We would like to sincerely thank you for your continued support and patience during this challenging time. And look forward to welcoming you to what is surely the most important British Travel and Tourism Show ever on 11th-12th June.
