#RWC2015 – Rugby’s Fanzone and Enjoy Rugby Festival off and running

The waiting is over.

The 2015 Rugby World Cup in Rugby, England – the very birthplace of the game, is off and running (no pun intended)

The actual Rugby World Cup tournament may not get underway until next Friday (18th September), but the town of Rugby’s Fanzone and Enjoy Rugby Festival has got a head-start.

Rugby hosts a family festival  – the Enjoy Rugby Festival, celebrating Rugby’s heritage from 12 September to 6 November 2015.

Based at the Rugby Village, the festival has a packed programme of events which are set to cover everything from the arts, engineering, literature, film, sport, science, and food and drink.

The premise here being that each event celebrates a part of Rugby’s history and heritage.

This is all happening as during Rugby World Cup 2015, Rugby will become one big festival area

Rugby’s official Fanzone will be located on Old Market Place in the heart of Rugby town centre, a short distance from Rugby School – the birthplace of the game.

The Fanzone will have a capacity of 2000 people, with free entry throughout Rugby World Cup 2015 for fans and families. It will feature a big screen with live coverage of ALL matches, + entertainment, food and drink and rugby-based activities.

And on days when Rugby World Cup matches won’t be shown, the Rugby Village will host a range of diverse events and activities as part of the Enjoy Rugby Festival.
